Luján + Sicilia is a retro modern lighting company.

It was founded in 2001 by two partners, Francisco Luján and Jaime Sicilia:

"The impulse to create these lighting collections comes from our fascination with the mysterious existence of everyday objects.  Like many from our generation, we are haunted by the ghosts of the consumer goods from the 1970's which populated our childhoods in Spain.  For us it was a logical step to ritualize the 60's and 70's and, in particular, the so-called modern design which, back then, was considered the epitome of good taste.

We are interested in probing the texture of light in new materials.  We want to investigate chiaroscuro in geometric forms and patterns.  We want to make functional lighting, which, to us, means lighting full of spirit, enigma, charm; lighting with a touch of nostalgia and humor, too.  And which, by the way, throws a bit of light around."
